The Flag Project for Rockefeller Plaza

About

The Flag Project was a public installation at the Rockefeller Center from February to April 2021 to celebrate NYC's resilience in the midst of the COVID pandemic. It featured 193 flags designed by artists and everyday people from around the country, and luckily I was selected to be a part of this project. This flag consists of little doodles encapsulating my corner of NYC, which, yes, is painfully below-14th-street.

Now, I wish I could have a glorious, majestic picture of my lil flag wavering in the wind...but let's just say Rockefeller Plaza is less windy than one would imagine.

While I was trying to take a picture of the flag, someone thought I was about to vandalize it and called the cops—next thing I knew three scary-looking cops came up to interrogate me. At least it makes for a good story.
