Along with the Send Chinatown Love Letters zine, I created an illustration for the post card to accompany each zine purchase. This was really fun to make as I racked my brains for the elements that first come up to mind when I think of Chinatown: seasoned cooks squatting by restaurant back doors smoking a cig; the ladies relentlessly selling counterfeit luxury bags on Canal street; the ubiquitous money trees that seem to be present in every establishment; hot, humid, summer air mixed with the smell of ripe durians, iced milk teas, and fresh-out-the-oven bo-lo-baos.
